Where can you place Adds on your website or Blog?

We know that everybody starts reading from left hand top corner & reads down to right hand bottom corner. But, practically things don’t work this way. Several studies are carried out to understand how users read website content. It has been observed that in the first sight readers generally take a quick look on the website. This is done in a particular pattern which is known as ‘Heat Map’. Certain locations on a web page gain more attention than others. Following figure shows the pattern generally followed by readers.

Image description

The darkest area shows highest attention by readers & the faintest area shows the lowest attention received. If advertisements are located in the darkest area they get maximum attention which help you earn more. Along with ‘Heat Map’ shown above, remember following points,

  1. Don’t put ads which will annoy users, ads which expand when user hovers mouse unintentionally over an image or text.
  2. Avoid ads within main content. Readers should be able to read without any disturbance.
  3. Avoid jazzy ads.
